An accomplished businessman, David Chirls served as a senior manager in the financial and communications sectors and spent a number of years as an architect. Now retired, David Chirls most recently practiced at Andrew Sheldon Architects, Inc., where he focused on residential renovation projects, working closely with clients and contractors to ensure quality and timely construction. Before that, he belonged to Maximillian Hayden Architects, Inc., where he designed new construction, renovations, and additions for residential projects. David Chirls began his architectural career at DiDonno Associates Architects, Inc., where he worked while pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the Pratt Institute. A veteran of the finance industry, David Chirls functioned as a Manager at Citibank, N.A. for a number of years before becoming an Assistant Vice President at Shearson American Express. Later, he accepted a position as Director of Information Management at American Express and eventually earned the distinction of Vice President at MasterCard International, where he worked in the company’s Business Development and Marketing division. Today, Mr. Chirls remains actively involved with his community as a member of the Brooklyn Heights Association and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Group. In addition, he regularly collaborates with the Catherine Chirls fund, which sends young inner-city squash players to Europe, where they participate in summer training camps. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to Two Seed, a social media company based in Brooklyn, where he continues to oversee the start-up’s development at its most crucial junctures. Recreationally, David Chirls enjoys traveling, skiing, and playing golf.
